006: Karen Nutarak of Adventure Canada

Karen Nutarak is a new entrepreneur and community liaison for Adventure Canada. Her home, Pond Inlet, is a small indigenous community in Northern Canada, and it’s a cruise port. When Karen often saw travelers stop by, take some photos, and leave, she decided to do something about: she hosted a baseball game with the locals and visitors. Since then, she’s worked to create meaningful interactions between people coming in off the cruise ships and the indigenous people who call Pond Inlet home. She talks about her work, life in Pond Inlet, and about responsible tourism.

Karen's business Atii (Let's Go) Tourism. Visit the site at https://atiitourism.com/ or their Facebook group.

Adventure Canada's website is adventurecanada.com, and you can follow them on Instagram at @adventure.canada.
